The bowls are affixed to the lathe by various methods.   After being attached to the lathe we are visualizing what the final product will be.  Bowls are the goal here at Shafer Bowls.   Not every situation dictates a bowl.  Sometimes a dish results from the pour or the blank may suggest a hollow form or even a vase.   This is the time a decision is made and the turner will setermine what to do with the blank.  Having selected a form, he or she will complete the art form.
