To care for your Shafer Bowl you should follow these steps:

• Remove the contents
• Wash the bowl ALWAYS BY HAND, in warm soapy water
• Please do not put your Shafer Bowl in the dishwasher
• Hand dry or just let it sit and dry
• Approximately every eight or ten washings, coat with olive oil or vegetable oil and wipe dry with a paper towel or cloth.  Taking good care of your bowl will help it last for many years.  There are wood bowls that are over 100 years of age so be sure to take good care of your investment
